Consortium data rooms

One bid. Nine
companies. One record.

Most consortium bids — a lead contractor and a handful of specialist partners, what Dutch tenders call a combinatie — still run over email attachments. Whoever has the zip has everything in it, there's no record of who opened what, and nothing stops your answer library from riding along by accident. Steinlog replaces the attachment with a scoped data room per project.

How it's done today

Fwd: Fwd: RE: BOQ_lot4_v6_FINAL2.xlsm

11 recipients · attachments: 3

No boundary between what a partner should see and what happens to be in the same folder — and no way to revoke it once it's sent.

The problem

Attachments are
how bids leak.

Every zip sent to a growing CC list is a small, permanent loss of control: no read receipt, no expiry, no way to tell a partner "you can see the bid, not the library behind it." By the time a consortium bid closes, the trail of who-sent-what-to-whom is usually just an inbox — which means it isn't a trail at all.

no revocation Once it's sent, it's sent — there is no way to pull it back.
no read record You'll never know who actually opened it, or when.
answer library included Certificates and past-project references, attached by accident.
no scoping A partner either gets the whole folder, or nothing.

Scoped partner data rooms

Partners see the bid.
Never your library.

Invite a partner and they get an account scoped to a single project — nothing more. They see only the documents you've included in the bid: never your answer library, never another project, never a folder they weren't meant to have. Everyone works from the same current version, and every partner access is on the record.

On the record

Every partner access,
on the project history.

A partner opening the BOQ, downloading a calculation, or being added to the project — all of it lands on the same append-only history as your own team's changes. Not a separate system to reconcile, and not something a lead has to take on trust.

Partner accounts

Free for the partners
you invite.

Steinlog is priced per company, not per seat. Adding a fifth consortium partner to a bid doesn't add a fifth invoice — a partner account costs nothing to hold, so there's no reason to leave anyone out of the scoped room and back on email.

PER-COMPANY PRICING

Lead pays.
Partners don't.

One price for the consortium, not one per partner seat.

Cross-border consortia

NL lead, SE partner.
One workspace.

A Dutch lead contractor and a Swedish partner run the same bid without falling back to spreadsheets and email to bridge the two markets. The UI stays in English throughout — jurisdiction-specific terms like a Dutch Nota van Inlichtingen (the clarification round) or a Plan van Aanpak surface in their native form where they matter, rather than being flattened into a generic translation, while the underlying data room, deadline cascade, and access log are shared by every company on the bid.

Why this doesn't exist elsewhere

The alternative
is an inbox.

No other tender platform gives consortium partners a scoped workspace. The alternative is emailing documents around — and email attachments are how bids leak.

  • Today: whole folders, by email

Whoever has the file has everything in it — your answer library included, if it happens to sit in the same place.

  • No revocation, no read record

Once a zip is sent there's no way to take it back, or even to know who opened it.

  • No middle ground

A partner either gets everything, or nothing — there is no scoped option.

  • Steinlog: a scoped data room per project

Partners see the bid, never the library. Every access is on the record. Free to hold, priced per company.
